Love, which created me, is what I am

I am more accustomed to describing myself by what I do.

Helpful. Productive. Difficult. Successful. Behind.

The description changes with the evidence available that day.

This lesson offers an identity that comes before evidence. Love created me, and Love is what I am.

That does not mean everything I do is loving. Fear can direct my behavior for hours before I recognize it. But behavior reveals the teacher I am following, not the substance God created.

I once lost patience while showing someone how to do something I understood easily. My explanation became clipped, and I watched their confidence retreat as mine tried to prove itself.

Later, I could see how quickly fear had turned knowledge into superiority.

If impatience were what I am, there would be nowhere else to return.

Because Love is what I am, I could apologize, begin again more gently, and let the mistake teach me without treating it as my deepest truth.

This identity also changes how I see other people. Their fear may require distance or a boundary, but it cannot become the authority on what God made.

Today I want to notice the adjective I am using as a permanent name.

Love is not the personality I perform when conditions are easy.

It is the truth beneath every frightened adaptation.

I do not have to build it.

I am learning to stop covering what has always been there.
