I keep expecting salvation to feel larger than a moment.
It should resolve the pattern, heal the relationship, or leave me permanently certain that fear has lost its hold.
Then a quiet shift arrives and I nearly overlook it.
I once heard the name of someone connected to a painful season and waited for the familiar tightening to begin. For just a few seconds, it did not. I did not suddenly trust them or forget what happened.
I simply experienced their name without reopening the courtroom.
That instant contained no visible miracle. The room looked the same. The history remained.
But the purpose of my mind had changed.
Salvation had come because I had stopped asking the grievance to save me.
A holy instant does not need to last forever in order to be whole. It shows me that another state of mind is possible now. When fear returns, I have not lost the truth of what I saw.
Today I want to stop measuring a peaceful moment by how long I can preserve it.
I may forget again. I may need many returns.
God does not ration freedom according to my consistency.
This instant is enough for Heaven to enter because the door is not opened by duration.
It is opened by willingness, and willingness is here.
