Fear narrows the field of vision.
One problem can occupy the entire room. One person’s absence can make every other form of support feel irrelevant.
I am surrounded by love while looking in only one direction.
I remember attending a gathering where one strained relationship held most of my attention. I kept noticing where that person stood, whom they spoke with, and whether their distance meant what I feared it meant.
Meanwhile, someone saved me a seat. Another person refilled my coffee without being asked. A dog rested its head against my leg while the room carried on around us.
None of those gestures repaired the relationship I wished were different.
They revealed that love had not agreed to enter through only one door.
God’s Love surrounds me through people, animals, beauty, practical help, inner strength, and sometimes the simple endurance that carries me through an hour I thought I could not bear.
Today I want to widen my attention without arguing against what still hurts.
I may continue wanting the repaired relationship or a different outcome.
Being surrounded does not mean being untouched by absence.
It means absence is never the whole landscape.
Love remains around me even when grief has narrowed my gaze.

Your words stay in this box until you choose “Reflect with me.” That sends them securely to OpenAI for this response. The Site does not save them. You can download the finished reflection if you want to keep it.
