Vision becomes a choice in this lesson.
I cannot always choose what appears before me, but I can choose which purpose will guide the way I see it.
Fear looks for separation. Christ’s vision looks for the place where healing is still possible.
I remember receiving criticism that contained both truth and an unnecessary edge. My first reaction was to reject all of it because of the way it was delivered.
Christ’s vision did not ask me to approve of the tone.
It allowed me to separate the useful information from the attack I felt around it. I could keep what might help me and release the rest without turning the person into an enemy.
This vision is merciful because it does not require anyone to be entirely right or entirely wrong.
It can see fear in the delivery, truth in part of the message, and innocence beneath both people’s defenses.
Today I want to bring one uncomfortable interaction to another kind of sight.
The answer may include an apology, a boundary, a correction, or no further action.
Vision does not decide the form in advance.
It chooses the teacher.
Today I can let love show me what fear’s first glance was unable to see.
