There are days when the heart feels crowded.
News, responsibilities, unfinished conversations, and concern for people I love can all seem to speak at once.
I often respond by trying to solve enough of them to earn quiet.
I remember sitting down at the end of a busy day and reaching automatically for my phone. I had wanted rest, but the first moment of stillness made every unresolved thought more audible.
Noise felt easier than meeting what remained.
I put the phone down and allowed the discomfort to be present without organizing it.
Nothing was solved during those minutes. Yet beneath the unfinished thoughts was a quiet that had not been created by finishing anything.
The hush of Heaven is not silence imposed on the human heart.
It is the spaciousness in which grief, concern, gratitude, and uncertainty can all be held without competing to define the whole of me.
Today I want to notice what I reach for when quiet begins.
Some thoughts may still need attention. Love may guide me to make a call, write something down, or rest.
The hush does not remove life.
It reminds me that life is already held inside a peace deeper than its noise.
For this moment, my heart does not have to carry itself.
