Review of Lessons 123–124

123. I thank my Father for His gifts to me. 124. Let me remember I am one with God.

Gratitude becomes easier when I notice that many of God’s gifts arrive through connection.

A person calls at the right time. Someone helps with a task I had quietly assumed I would carry alone. A conversation reminds me that my fear is not the only way to interpret what is happening.

The form is human. The gift points beyond the form.

I thank my Father for His gifts to me, and I remember I am one with God.

There have been periods when I felt reluctant to ask for help because needing someone seemed to prove that I was not handling life well enough.

Then help would arrive anyway.

A meal appeared, a ride was offered, or someone sat with me without demanding that I become more cheerful. Their care did not make me weak.

It revealed that independence was never the same as wholeness.

Oneness does not mean I should expect other people to meet every need. Human support is imperfect, and sometimes the person I hoped would show up cannot.

But one unavailable form does not mean connection itself has been withdrawn.

God’s gifts may come through a different person, a useful resource, an unexpected capacity, or the strength to make a request I would normally keep to myself.

Gratitude helps me recognize those openings.

Today I want to look beyond the form in which I expected support to arrive.

I can thank the person without making them the source. I can receive the gift without pretending I generated enough strength alone.

What comes through love reminds me where I remain joined.

I am not grateful because I never need anyone.

I am grateful because I was never truly on my own.
