I trust my brothers, who are one with me

Trust can sound reckless when someone has shown me that they are unreliable.

I do not think this lesson asks me to ignore patterns, share confidential information carelessly, or give someone responsibilities they repeatedly mishandle.

It asks me to distinguish trust in a person’s behavior from trust in what God created.

Behavior changes. The Self beneath it does not.

I can recognize that someone is not presently able to meet me honestly without deciding dishonesty is their permanent identity. I can protect what matters without making suspicion the only relationship available in my mind.

This is difficult after betrayal.

I noticed this after asking a new collaborator to handle something important. Someone in a similar role had once missed deadlines and left me repairing the work at the last minute.

This time, I checked the shared document repeatedly and nearly sent several reminders before the first deadline had even arrived.

I told myself I was managing responsibly.

Some structure was wise. Quietly treating the new person as though they had already failed was not.

Trusting my brother meant allowing them to do the work without making them continually answer for someone else’s performance.

It also meant trusting myself to notice what was actually happening. I did not need constant suspicion to keep me safe.

We are one because the same Love is our source, even while our awareness and behavior differ greatly.

Today I want to notice who is answering for someone else’s mistake.

I may move slowly. I may verify, wait, or decline.

Trust does not require access.

It requires me to stop insisting that fear has discovered the final truth about anyone God created.
