182. I will be still an instant and go home.
I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.
The body can make urgency feel unquestionable.
My pulse quickens, my shoulders tighten, and the thought *I have to handle this now* begins sounding like a fact.
This review gives me an instant between sensation and instruction.
I once noticed this while searching for something I was already late to bring with me. I moved from room to room faster, becoming less able to see what was directly in front of me.
Then I stopped for one breath.
The missing item did not appear through spiritual intervention. I simply became present enough to remember where I had placed it.
More important, the instant reminded me that lateness and bodily stress had not removed me from home.
I am not a body. I am free. The body may be activated without becoming the authority on whether I am safe in God.
Today I want to notice the urgency that has narrowed my awareness.
I may still need to hurry, apologize, or solve the practical problem.
Going home does not always change the task.
It changes the place within me from which the task is met.
