187. I bless the world because I bless myself.

I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.

Blessing the body is not the same as believing I am only a body.

I can feed it well, let it sleep, take it to the doctor, and respect what it can carry today. Care becomes captivity only when the body’s condition determines whether I am worthy or free.

I once approached a long staircase with other people and knew the elevator would be the wiser choice for my body that day.

For a moment, using it felt like a public admission that I could not keep up. I nearly chose the stairs to protect an image no one else had asked me to maintain.

Taking the elevator blessed more than my body. I arrived without pain, frustration, or the quiet resentment that can follow when I ignore a limit and then blame the day for having one.

I am not a body. I am free to care for the body without making its needs shameful or sacred.

The blessing lies in honesty.

Today I want to notice where I am neglecting myself in order to maintain an image of capability.

The answer may be rest, movement, nourishment, treatment, or a limit.

None of those things creates my worth.

They allow the body to become a kinder instrument for the love I already am.
