194. I place the future in the Hands of God.

I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.

The body gives the future many ways to frighten me.

A test is scheduled. A symptom has not resolved. An aging parent begins needing help that no one knows how to arrange.

Soon I am living inside outcomes that have not happened.

Placing the future in God’s Hands does not mean refusing appointments, plans, or difficult conversations. It means allowing preparation to end where the present ends.

I once packed a bag the night before an early procedure and then repacked it twice. Nothing practical was gained after the first attempt. I was trying to create emotional certainty by rearranging socks, paperwork, and a phone charger.

Eventually I noticed that the bag was ready and I was not.

The future needed a different kind of release.

I could let tomorrow remain unknown without deciding that I was unsafe tonight. I could care for the body in advance without sending my mind ahead to supervise every possibility.

Today I want to recognize the point where planning becomes rehearsal for fear.

The body will have a future for as long as it has time. That future will include change I cannot fully prevent.

But I am not a body, and freedom means I do not have to travel into every imagined tomorrow with it.

God is present here.

I can be present here too.
