195. Love is the way I walk in gratitude.

I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.

Gratitude for the body can become complicated.

I may appreciate what it allows while resenting what it cannot do. I can feel grateful for healing and still miss the self who never had to think about recovery.

Love does not require a cleaner emotion.

I remember finishing a short walk during a season when every step required more attention than it once had. I sat down, felt the tiredness in my legs, and realized I had spent most of the walk noticing what was awkward or missing.

For a moment, I thanked the body for adapting.

The gratitude was not sentimental. It included effort, loss, and the knowledge that tomorrow might be different.

That made it more honest, not less.

To walk in gratitude is not to praise every condition. It is to meet the body without contempt while remembering that my identity exceeds it.

I can thank hands that prepare a meal, lungs that receive the next breath, or a tired body that carried me as far as it could today. When gratitude is unavailable, I can offer neutrality instead of attack.

The body does not need to be ideal before it can be treated with kindness.

Today I want to notice the physical thing I criticize automatically.

My freedom does not depend on admiring the body, and gratitude does not bind me more tightly to it.

Love simply removes the hostility from the way I walk beside it.

I am still as God created me.

That truth makes room for tenderness toward the temporary form carrying me here.
