This lesson needs to be held carefully.

Bodies can be endangered. Unsafe people and conditions exist, and spiritual practice should never persuade me to remain where protection, medical attention, or practical action is required.

The lesson speaks to something danger cannot reach.

I can protect the body without deciding that fear has discovered the truth about me.

I remember driving through an intense storm when visibility narrowed and every sound against the windshield increased my tension. The safest choice was practical: slow down, create distance, and eventually pull off the road.

Fear added another layer. It filled the next several minutes with images of what might happen and treated each image as useful preparation.

The images did not make me safer. Clear attention did.

When I stopped rehearsing disaster, I could respond more wisely to the conditions actually present.

“I am in danger nowhere” did not mean the road required no care. It meant my deepest identity was not traveling inside every catastrophic picture fear produced.

Today I want to distinguish a real need for protection from the mental continuation of danger.

I may leave, ask for help, seek treatment, or establish a firm boundary.

Those actions can arise from love rather than panic.

God’s creation remains safe even while the body is cared for wisely in a changing world.
