An uncomfortable moment can feel permanent while I am inside it.
I assume this mood will last, the uncertainty will continue, or the current version of a relationship is now the final one.
The mind turns an instant into a forecast.
I remember waking in the middle of the night with a problem that seemed enormous. In the dark, every option looked limited and every consequence felt close.
By morning, the facts had not changed.
But the problem had returned to its actual size.
The world I experienced at three o’clock had endured only as long as I kept giving that instant the meaning of forever.
This lesson does not minimize long seasons of grief, illness, or uncertainty. Human experiences can last far longer than we would choose.
Yet every perception is being made now, and no fearful interpretation has to receive an eternal contract.
Today I want to notice the word *always* inside a present difficulty.
The next instant may contain the same facts.
It can still receive a different purpose.
The world fear made is renewed through repetition.
It can also end in the instant I become willing to see again.
