I often ask for a new perception while quietly specifying what it should be.
I want to see the situation differently, preferably in a way that confirms my decision, reduces discomfort, and leaves my current identity intact.
That is not much of an opening.
I remember being disappointed when an opportunity went to someone else. I tried to think positively by telling myself something better must be coming.
The thought sounded hopeful, but it still treated the event as a contest I had lost.
A genuinely new perception came later. I saw how much I had wanted the opportunity to prove that my work mattered.
The pain was not only about the role. It was about the identity I had attached to receiving it.
That recognition did not make the disappointment disappear. It released the opportunity from a job it could never perform.
New perception may not make the form look better. It may show me that I misunderstood what the form was for.
Today I want to bring one fixed interpretation to the Holy Spirit without proposing its replacement.
The answer could reveal an overlooked option, an honest limit, a hidden grievance, or love where I expected only loss.
I do not create the new perception by thinking harder.
I make room for it by admitting that the old one has not brought peace.
Now is enough willingness.
The new sight can come before I understand what it will ask me to release.
