Father, my freedom is in You alone

I often associate freedom with having more options.

An open schedule feels free. Enough money, time, or flexibility seems to promise that no one can corner me into a life I do not want.

Options can be useful, but they do not always create freedom.

I remember having several possible directions for a project and feeling increasingly trapped by the choice. I kept researching because every decision meant giving up the alternatives.

Nothing external was preventing me from choosing.

The prison was the belief that one wrong decision could damage my future and prove that I could not trust myself.

Freedom began when I stopped asking the choice to guarantee a perfect outcome.

I could select the direction that seemed most honest, learn from what followed, and remain held by God if the plan needed to change.

Freedom in God is not unlimited control over form. It is release from the belief that form contains my safety.

Today I want to notice what I believe must remain open before I can feel free.

I may still need more information or time. Pausing can be wise.

But endless possibility can become another defense against living.

God’s freedom travels with me into the choice. It is present in commitment, revision, success, and error.

I do not lose it by closing one door.

What God gives cannot be trapped by the shape my life takes.
