I sometimes expect God’s answer to arrive as certainty.
I want a clear internal voice, a meaningful sign, or an unmistakable feeling that removes the possibility of choosing incorrectly.
When that does not happen, I assume I have not been answered.
I remember knowing that I owed someone an apology but feeling uncertain about how much explanation to include. I prayed for guidance and then drafted several versions, each carefully designed to make sure the person also understood my side.
None brought peace.
Eventually the answer became simple: apologize for the effect without using the apology to secure agreement about my intention.
I sent three honest sentences.
God’s answer did not control how the other person received them. It showed me the part that belonged to me and released the argument I had been trying to hide inside the repair.
Today I want to notice the form in which I am demanding an answer.
The answer may come through a quiet thought, another person, useful information, a closed door, or growing willingness to do what I already know.
Discernment still matters. Fear and desire can imitate guidance, and practical decisions may need time and counsel.
But I do not call into an empty place.
God answers through whatever helps the mind move from fear toward love.
I may receive only enough light for one step.
That is still an answer.
