155. I will step back and let Him lead the way. 156. I walk with God in perfect holiness.

God is but Love, and therefore so am I.

I find it easier to step back when I am confident that guidance will return me to the plan I already prefer.

The real practice begins when the next step might change the plan.

I have gone into prayer wanting peace about a decision while quietly refusing one of the possible answers. I was willing to be led as long as the path did not involve disappointing someone, releasing an opportunity, or admitting that I no longer had the energy I once did.

These review ideas remind me that stepping back does not make me less capable. I step back with God.

I walk in holiness even when I am uncertain, revise a decision, or discover that fear shaped my first response.

I remember agreeing to something because it seemed manageable at the time. As it approached, I could feel the strain of trying to make my earlier yes remain true.

Part of me believed changing course would make me unreliable.

Stepping back allowed a simpler truth to emerge: I could not offer what I had promised in the form I had promised it.

Holiness did not require perfect foresight. It asked for honesty now.

God is but Love, and therefore so am I.

Love could lead me through an apology and a changed plan without converting either into proof that I had failed.

Today I want to loosen my grip on the answer I have asked God to approve.

Guidance may confirm what I hoped.

It may also free me from the performance required to keep pretending the old answer still fits.
