157. Into His Presence would I enter now. 158. Today I learn to give as I receive.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
There are times when I start giving before I have become present.
Someone is upset, and I reach for reassurance. A problem appears, and I begin listing solutions. Activity gives me the feeling that I am helping before I have listened long enough to know what help would be.
These review ideas restore the order.
First, I enter God’s Presence now—with my discomfort, urgency, and desire to make the moment easier. Then I give from what I receive there.
I remember sitting with someone who was grieving. A silence opened, and I felt pressure to fill it with something hopeful.
Every sentence I considered sounded like an attempt to move them away from where they actually were.
When I stopped searching for words, I noticed what the moment had already given me: enough steadiness to remain.
What I gave was not an answer. It was the willingness not to leave emotionally because the pain could not be solved.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
Love does not always arrive as comfort. Sometimes it is the room in which another person does not have to become more comfortable for my sake.
Today I want to pause before offering the first response fear produces.
It may be a practical idea, a truthful boundary, a quiet presence, or the humility to say that I do not know.
I do not need to manufacture love quickly.
I can enter the Presence where love already is and allow its form to become clear.
A PRIVATE REFLECTION
What is coming up for you?
Share what you are feeling, noticing, or struggling with. The companion will respond through the lens of this lesson—not as the final truth, but as another way of seeing.
Your words stay in this box until you choose “Reflect with me.” That sends them securely to OpenAI for this response. The Site does not save them. You can download the finished reflection if you want to keep it.
