There are mornings when yesterday reaches me before God does.

I remember what I left unfinished, the conversation I mishandled, or the promise I made to behave differently. Before the day begins, I am already yesterday’s version of myself.

This lesson offers another beginning.

“Again” does not mean I stopped being God’s Son. It means I stopped remembering.

I once woke with the heaviness of an argument still present. Nothing had been resolved overnight. My first impulse was to reopen the case mentally and continue where I had left off.

Instead, I let the morning be new for one minute.

I opened the curtain, made the bed, and asked who I would be today if the grievance were not the first fact about me.

The answer did not excuse either person. It gave me a self from which repair was possible.

God’s Son is not an identity I earn through a flawless day. It is the identity I return to after fear has assigned me another one.

Today I want to notice what yesterday is trying to name.

I may still apologize, grieve, or address what happened.

But I do not have to drag an old self into every new morning.

Today I am His Son again because today I am willing to remember.
