I collect evidence for my limitations almost automatically.

I am too old to begin, too tired to contribute, too inexperienced to speak, or too far behind to catch up.

Some limits are real at the level of form. Time, money, health, and responsibility affect what is possible today.

The problem begins when a circumstance becomes an identity.

I once declined to try something because I assumed everyone else would already know what they were doing. I called the decision realistic.

Later, I watched another beginner ask an awkward question, receive an answer, and continue.

Nothing had separated us except their willingness to be new in public.

I had not been limited by a lack of knowledge. I had been limited by the belief that not knowing would expose something shameful about me.

Seeing myself as unlimited does not mean I can perform every task or ignore the body’s boundaries. It means no temporary condition defines the full reach of love, learning, or usefulness through me.

Today I want to question one familiar “I can’t.”

The practical answer may still be no.

But perhaps it can also be not yet, not this way, or not without help.

God did not create me as a list of capacities.

I do not need to deny reality in order to stop making it smaller than it is.
