Identity often feels like a collection of descriptions.
My name, age, work, relationships, history, strengths, and mistakes tell other people who I am. They also tell me.
When one of those descriptions changes, I can feel less recognizable to myself.
I remember completing a role that had structured my days for years. Without the title, introductions became strangely difficult. I knew my name, but I was less sure how to explain my place.
The Son of God is my Identity beneath every explanation.
This does not erase the human details that make a life particular. It keeps those details from carrying a weight they cannot sustain.
I can lose a role without becoming no one. I can make a mistake without becoming the mistake. I can enter a season where productivity is reduced without becoming less valuable.
The identity God gives also connects me to everyone I am tempted to rank above or below myself.
We may have different abilities, opportunities, and behavior. We do not have different origins.
Today I want to notice the description I am most afraid of losing.
The answer may feel unfamiliar because God’s Identity cannot be summarized on a form.
It is not vague.
It is the most stable fact about me: I belong to God, and nothing temporary has been asked to keep that true.
