This lesson sounds grandiose if I hear it through the personality.
My personal self does not control traffic, weather, other people, or even the timing of most inconveniences. Trying to rule those things has produced more frustration than sovereignty.
The Self God created rules through the meaning it accepts.
I once spent part of a morning irritated by construction noise outside. I could not stop the machinery or move the work to a more convenient time.
But the noise was not the only disturbance.
I had added the belief that the morning was now unusable and that peace had been taken by people who should have planned differently.
When I changed rooms, put on headphones, and released the argument, the external sound did not become holy. It simply stopped ruling my mind.
That is the authority available to me.
I do not control every event, but I decide whether an event will become proof that I am separated from peace.
Today I want to notice where I have confused control with power.
The Self rules by refusing to give fear the authority to define reality.
This rule does not dominate anyone.
It quietly restores the universe within my awareness to the Love from which it came.
