I have built refuge out of information.
If I know the plan, understand the risk, and anticipate the possible outcomes, I believe I can create a protected place inside uncertainty.
Information is useful. It is not a refuge.
I remember watching the forecast before a trip and opening one weather map after another. Each update promised preparation but introduced another possibility to monitor.
I had gathered more information and felt less secure.
Eventually I recognized that no forecast could create the certainty I wanted before the day arrived.
I closed the screen and returned to what was true in the room: I was breathing, supported, and not being asked to live tomorrow yet.
God as refuge did not guarantee the weather I preferred.
It meant no result could remove me from the Love holding me while I received it.
Practical knowledge and divine security can coexist. I can ask questions, seek qualified guidance, and make informed decisions without expecting information to eliminate vulnerability.
Today I want to notice what I am researching, checking, or planning in the hope of finally feeling safe.
A refuge is not a prediction about the weather.
It is the place I remain held when the weather changes.
