I often enter difficult moments believing I arrive alone.
Before speaking at a family gathering, I once stood in a quiet hallway rehearsing everything that might go wrong. I could forget what I wanted to say, become emotional, or fail to honor the people I loved in the way I intended.
Fear made the moment a test of my individual adequacy.
This lesson offers companionship before performance. I stand with Christ. My purpose is not to impress, control the response, or execute the moment perfectly. My purpose is to let love be expressed through the form available.
That remembrance does not guarantee smooth words. It changes what a stumble means. If God is in me, my worth is not waiting for the room’s approval. If Christ stands with me, I can pause, breathe, and return to the intention beneath the speech.
Certainty of purpose is different from certainty of outcome. I may not know how others will receive me. I can know what I want to serve.
I can release the demand to carry the whole occasion by myself.
Peace becomes possible when I remember Who stands with me—and within everyone I am about to meet.
