I sometimes call to God while already specifying the answer.

Give me clarity—but let the right choice be the one I prefer. Give me peace—but first change the circumstance disturbing me. When the requested form does not arrive, I assume the call went unanswered.

During a creative project, I once prayed for direction after realizing that the opening I had labored over was not working. My stomach dropped at the thought of losing those hours. I wanted inspiration that would rescue every sentence and prove the effort had not been wasted. The quieter answer was to begin again.

Truth often responds first with a miracle: a change in how I see. The outer decision may remain unfinished, but my grip loosens. I become less invested in forcing one result to prove that I am guided.

Then truth can return as itself—not merely as a solution, but as the recognition that love was present before the problem and remains after it.

I can listen for the shift before demanding the outcome.

The first answer may be the willingness to see differently. That is not smaller than the solution. It is what makes a true solution recognizable.
